Tuesday, May 30 Port McNeill to Fury Cove 75.8 miles 7 hours
Today we rounded the dreaded Cape
Caution and entered northern British Columbia. We planned a very early departure to avoid
high winds that pick up in the afternoon.
We left a 6:30 am with calm winds and water. The further we went into Queen Charlotte
Strait we felt mild westerly swells but the water was like a pond all the
way. Almost the entire trip today was in
water open to the ocean. This was a
piece-of-cake! We could have kept going
but we stopped in one of the prettier coves in BC. Fury Cove has a white
shell beach that look out on Fitz Hugh
Sound. It is fun to be in this calm
anchorage and watch the cruise ships go by.
The bad news is that it is raining hard.
