Finally arrived in Anacortes, WA

Image
After two days and 900 + miles we finally arrived in Anacortes. Last night we stayed at the nicest Best Western Motel.  The BW Hartford Lodge in Sutherlin, OR is dog friendly, has soft comfy beds and feather pillows and a hot cooked breakfast.  We thought traveling on the weekend would be easier but it wasn't.  The traffic today was horrific.  We had lunch at our favorite burger place at Castle Rock, WA.  C & L Burgers at the foot of Mt Saint Helens. This army marches on its stomach. When we arrived, we drove by North Harbor Diesel and saw Emerald Star out in the yard. Hopefully all the work we requested has been done.  Tomorrow we get to empty the stuff from the car onto the boat.  We are staying at the Islands Inn in Anacortes.  It is not nearly as nice as last night but it will do until we move aboard Emerald Star on Thursday. Islands Inn, Anacortes Merlin is a real trooper when we travel.  I don't think he cares about...

Getting excited about cruising

Two weeks before we pack the car and head up to Anacortes, WA to get Emerald Star in the water and begin our summer travels.  It is still amazing how much we take in the car back and forth to the boat.  I guess I can never pack lightly.  It will be nice to get those boxes out of the living room.  Fred is stocking up on oil, oil filters and zincs, etc.  The things we really need.  I, however, pack all those things I know we can't live without.  You know, clothes and shoes, etc.  We had a lovely Easter with our family and said good-by until the fall.  My sister Ann with her grandchildren, Grace and Conor My daughter, Heather, and I
