Emerald Star launched
Emerald Star was splashed 3 days ago. We were fueled on the hard at North Harbor Diesel. We are able to stay on their guest dock until Monday (tomorrow). Of course things never run smoothly at first. Fred pulled the shower sump to clean it. It worked fine until he replaced it. Now the pump runs but it does not pump out water. Off to West Marine to buy a new pump. Of course the new pump is taller than the old one and the lid to the sump box won't close properly. The hole that contains the sump is about 12" x 14". Fred has to stand on his head to work on this. He said a pretty fair amount of #%€¥? language. On Thursday night (first night on the boat) we were getting ready to shower and the water pump was only working intermittently. Our electrician, Brent from WavePointMarine, put a new water pump on his account for us. So Friday Fred replaced the water pump.
Friday night we had an electrical storm. It was very pretty but poor Merlin (our Cavalier King. Harley's spaniel) was a basket case. He was hyperventilating and shaking terribly. All we could do was to cuddle him and wait for the storm to pass.
Yesterday we went to Costco to get the things we forgot on our last trip. Of course when we go to Costco Fred wants a hot dog and berry sunday. I of course have to join him. All of this only cost $7. Can't buy lunch anywhere else for this price. Fred went back the boat while I shopped at Safeway. He was busy tightening, strapping down and securing everything that needed it. We had the boat waxed and everything attached to the boat was loosened or removed. Doing this also makes Fred a less than happy camper. We still have to put the bimini back on...
It is now Sunday. We are at Starbucks for a latte and their wifi.
